Dallas-Fort Worth, TX | The Chisholm Trail Disposal
A turnkey waste management facility to serve the construction and demolition needs of the northwest Dallas-Fort Worth area. What is the Chisholm Trail Disposal?
Chisholm Trail Disposal (CTD) is a turnkey waste management facility located in Aurora, TX designed to serve the construction and demolition disposal needs of Wise, Tarrant, Denton, and Parker Counties. The location of CTD is currently a soil mining operation that will be repurposed for the construction and demolition waste disposal facility.
After a lengthy and rigorous permitting process with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), CTD Type IV C&D landfill will open to provide long term C&D disposal needs. CTD will save valuable Type I MSW landfill space from being consumed with construction and demolition waste.
Types of waste accepted:
- Construction and demolition waste
- Concrete, brick, rock, wood, paper, plastics, and cardboard
- Furniture, roofing shingles and tiles, brush, and yard waste
Types of waste not accepted:
- Household trash, batteries, or used oil
- Tires, electronics, or TVs
Why do we need a new disposal construction and demolition (C&D) facility?
Diminishing landfill capacity
The population in the northwest Dallas-Fort Worth region is expected increase steeply, with an estimated a 32% increase in population growth as well as a 30% increase in estimated waste generation by 2040. Regional forecasts estimate that there will not be enough landfill space to support this growth by as soon as 2037.
Keeping costs affordable
Additional waste capacity is essential to keeping costs affordable for residents and businesses. Without a new disposal site, the number of facilities with available capacity will decrease and the cost of hauling waste to alternative facilities will increase.
Supporting regional growth
Proper waste planning is essential to sustaining communities as well as supporting local businesses and communities. Beyond simply needing added landfill capacity for all waste, the region specifically needs capacity for C&D waste to support infrastructure growth for housing, businesses, healthcare facilities, and schools.
